Optimization and Analysis of an Integrated Liquefaction Process for Hydrogen and Natural Gas Utilizing Mixed Refrigerant Pre-Cooling

Liquefying hydrogen is an efficient way to store and transport hydrogen. However, the liquefaction process energy intensive. Therefore, integrated of natural gas utilizing mixed refrigerant cycle Claude proposed. The not only couples a steam methane reforming produce carbon dioxide refrigeration assist in pre-cooling, but also employs solar absorption system enhance efficiency. proposed simulated optimized using HYSYS particle swarm optimization algorithm, energy, exergy, economic analyses are performed. analysis shows that specific consumption 5.2201 kWh/kg, reduction 10.67% compared base case. exergy loss efficiency 64,904 kW 62.21%, which 13.63% 6.63% lower than case, respectively. total annualized cost USD 28.6 million per year. realizes high utilization follows development trend systems.
